ISRT has successfully organized a two-day National Workshop on “Measuring Effective Coverage for Monitoring and Evaluation of Selected SDG Indicators” during 17-18 December 2022. The opening ceremony of the workshop was held on Dec 17, 2022, in the
ISRT seminar room. The honorable Vice-Chancellor of the University of Dhaka, Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, and Dr. Shahnaz Arefin, NDC, Secretary, Statistics and Informatics Division, Ministry of Planning, joined the event as a Special Guest. The workshop’s objective was to explain and illustrate how to measure SDG indicators to estimate effective coverage that would help monitor progress toward SDG targets at national and sub-national levels. This knowledge would help identify the bottlenecks and barriers to achieving the targets so that further improvements can be made to accelerate the progress. Participants from various government and private organizations, as well as young and emerging evaluators who want to work in the field of evaluating SDG indicators, attended the workshop enthusiastically. ISRT hopes that the participants will further be able to disseminate the knowledge gained in the workshop to the communities for collective progress.
