Abstract
To estimate any parameter of a finite population, using auxiliary information on an auxiliary character, a general class of estimators is proposed. Its mean square is obtained to the first degree of approximation. Many estimators are identified as particular cases of the proposed class. The results of previous particular estimators may easily be derived as special cases of the present study.
