Abstract

A simple method of reducing bias of the usual ratio estimator from order $ \frac{1}{n} $ to order $ \frac{1}{n^2} $ is discussed briefly. The almost unbiased ratio estimator so obtained is compared with the almost unbiased ratio estimators of the same type by Beale (1962) and Tin (1965).
