A note on purchase incidence model : Bayesian approach

S.N. Alam and S.S. Ali (2002). A note on purchase incidence model : Bayesian approach. Journal of Statistical Research, Vol. 36, No. 2, pp.  137-143.

Abstract

All the studies made so far, on purchase incidence of consumer non-durable items, have been related to the number of possible purchases by a randomly selected consumer, during a fixed time-interval. In this note, we propose to study the average number of purchases, across the consumers in a region, in a given time period. A Bayesian approach has been suggested so that the sample values have a greater bearing on the estimates.
