Multivariate Augmented Factorial Monomial Symmetric Functions

Abstract

In this paper we have computed the coefficients for the relations between factorial power sum expressions (fps) and augmented factorial monomial symmetric functions (afmsf) of weight 6 for the unipartite case. We also derived the bipartite relations of weight 1 through weight 4.

These tables of afsf have a variety of applications. Some of them are the studies of the distributions of discrete random variables, theory of runs, and measurement of diversity (David,1972a, b).

Examples of factorial k-statistics and factorial h-statistics are given to illustrate the application of afmsf to different problems of estimation.
