Estimation of Parameters of Uniform Distribution using Generalized Ranked Set Sampling

A. Adatia  (2003). Estimation of Parameters of Uniform Distribution using Generalized Ranked Set Sampling. Journal of Statistical Research, Vol. 37, No. 2, pp.  193-202.

Abstract

The ranked-set sampling technique has been generalized so that more efficient estimators may be obtained. The generalized ranked-set sampling technique is applied in the estimation of location and scale parameters of the uniform distribution. Three estimators are proposed. These include generalized ranked-set minimum variance unbiased estimators simple estimators and ranked-set sample estimators. Coefficients, variances, covariances, generalized variances and relative efficiencies are derived. The estimators are compared to the best linear unbiased estimators of the location and scale parameters.
