ISRT welcomes its 15th batch of students in Applied Statistics! It has been quite sometime since ISRT began its undergraduate and graduate program in Applied Statistics in 1994-1995. A list of alumni is available here. 

ISRT is a notable institute under the University of Dhaka, offerring quality education in the field of statistical sciences. Over 15000 collection in its own library, three fully equipped computer labs, experienced professors and energetic young faculty members are the core of ISRT's progress. 

ISRT looks forward with more research and quality education for students in view.

Professor Dr Amir Hossain became the new Director of ISRT on January 11, 2009. In a simple ceremony Mrs Begum Zainab, the outgoing Director, handed over the directorship to Dr Hossain. We congratulations Prof Hossain and also thank Mrs Zainab for successfully completing her tenure.

Dr. Azmeri Khan and Dr. M Amir Hossain have joined ISRT as Professor. ISRT family congratulates them on their joining.

After completing the Masters program at the University of Nottingham, ISRT faculty Mr Shafiqur Rahman has started the PhD in Medical Statistics at the Department of Statistical Sciences, University College London, UK. 

ISRT faculty Mr Hasinur Rahman Khan has started the PhD program at the Department of Statistics , University of Warwick, UK. Before that he did his Masters from the same department.

Dr. Md. Israt Rayhan has joined ISRT as assistant professor. On the other hand, Ms. Yesmin Akhter and Ms. Suborna Shekhor Ahmed   have joined ISRT as lecturer. ISRT family congratulates them on their joining.

Mr. Khandoker Shuvo Bakar, lecturer of Applied Statistics, went to University of Southampton, UK on September 22, 2008, for higher study.

ISRT faculty Mr. Amir Hossain has sucessfully defended his phd thesis at the School of Environmental Studies, Jadavpur University, India. 

Md. Anwarul Islam Sumon, student of 8th batch of Applied Statistics, has died on August 1, 2008. Suman was a regular in the cricket and football teams of the institute and was very popular among ISRT people. ISRT family deeply shocked with sudden demise of him. May ALLAH bless the departed soul.

 Dr. Md. Israt Rayhan, lecturer of Applied Statistics, has returned to ISRT after completing his PhD from the Institute for Environmental Economics and World Trade, University of Hannover , Germany,  where he was a DAAD fellow. ISRT congratulates Dr.

Professor Dr. Syed Shahadat Hossain has returned to ISRT from University of Newcastle, UK where he was visiting as a commonwealth fellow. ISRT family welcomes him.

Mr. S.M. Enayetur Raheem has been awarded Ontario Graduate Scholarship in Science and Technology (OGSST) for the year 2008-09. Now he is doing PhD in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, University of Windsor, Canada. ISRT congratulates him on his achievement.
