Freshers' reception, Batch-16ISRT is going to organize Freshers' reception (Batch 16) and Farewell (Batch 9 and 10) on Tuesday, March 16, 2010. The reception will be held at the ISRT seminar room. The honourable vice chancellor of the University of Dhaka will be at the program as the chief guest and the Dean of Science faculty will be there as the special guest.

ISRT lost to IER in BasketballISRT lost to the Institute of Educational Research (IER) in the first round of the inter-department basketball tournament. The final score was 21-18 in favor of IER.

ISRT beat Geography Department in CricketIn the inter-department cricket tournament, ISRT beat the Department of Geography and Environment by two wickets. Batting first Geography scored 176 runs in 20 overs. ISRT needed two runs from the last ball of the 20th over to win the match. Al-Amin (4th year student, 12th batch) scored 62 runs and Mirajul Islam (MS student, 10th batch) scored 47 runs for ISRT. This is ISRT's second win in this year's tournament. |

Orientation Class - Batch 16
The orientation class of the new first year students of Applied Statistics (Batch - 16) will be held on Tuesday, 26th January at 11 AM in the ISRT Seminar room. All the students of 16th Batch are welcomed to ISRT as the new members of the family.

ISRT beat Pharmacy Department in CricketISRT clinched a comprehensive win against the Department of Pharmacy in their first match of the Inter Department Cricket Tournament organised by the University of Dhaka. The match was held on Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at the Jagannath Hall ground. ISRT won the match by four wickets, batting first Pharmacy Department scored 124 runs in 20 overs. Chasing the target, ISRT made 125 runs for 6 wickets in 16 overs. We all congratulate the ISRT cricket team.

ISRT faculty received an awardISRT faculty Shahedul Ahsan Khan has been selected to receive one of International Biometric Society's ENAR Distinguished Student Paper Awards for the 2010 ENAR Spring meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. The meeting is supposed to take place on March 22-23, 2010 and Shahedul Ahsan Khan is expected to present his paper there. He is currently on study leave for higher studies at the University of Waterloo, Canada. |

Welcome back Md. AsaduzzamanAfter completing his higher studies at the University of Westminster, United Kingdom, Md. Asaduzzaman has joined ISRT on December 8, 2009. Asad, a student of the first batch of Applied Statistics, graduated from ISRT in 2001. He joined ISRT in 2001 as a lecturer and was promoted to Assistant Professor in 2005. ISRT family welcomes Asad back! |
